Japan's Four Season Outdoor Adventure Resort

Pensions

Pensions are a westernized version of a Minshuku or Ryokan and are more commonly found in resort towns and ski-areas.

Influenced by the Chalets and Lodges of Europe the Pension provides for Japanese holiday makers looking for a more fashionable accommodation option designed to create the illusion of a real European ski holiday.

Pensions offer international tourists to Minakami the same personal service of a Minshuku with all the comforts of home including a bed instead of a futon and, quite often a full-course western style meal.

Pensions are a great option for families on a ski holiday in Japan as children can feel comfortable in their environment, pension owners are generally a little more open to international visitors and there will be no problems if the children are not yet accoustomed to Japanese cuisine.
