Minakami is a four season hot spring resort town in the northern region of Gunma Prefecture, nestled in the Tanigawa range of mountains, just a 70 minute bullet train ride from Tokyo.

Traditionally Minakami has been famous for its incredible natural scenery, hot Springs and traditional crafts, but over the past decade outdoor adventure activities have become a major part of Minakami’s attractions.  There are activities for all age groups and thrill levels, from family hiking and skiing to adrenaline pumping whitewater rafting and backcountry snowboarding. Minakami has something for everyone, throughout the four seasons.  Unique ways to experience a very unique part of Japan.

Minakami area boasts 17 different hot spring areas with over 100 different onsens (hot springs), ranging from modern onsen and health complexes to traditional outdoor baths.
